Most mornings at the Loewen house start a little slower than you might think for a family running a landscaping business. If you stop by early enough, you might catch all five of us—David, me, and our three boys sharing breakfast in the greenhouses before the day gets busy.

The warmth, the color, the quiet hum of the plants waking up—it’s become one of our favorite parts of the day. In between bites and laughs, we check on the hanging baskets and peek at what’s sprouting. The boys know the names of more plants than most adults, and that makes my heart so full.

We care for the plants, and somehow, they care for us too. That’s the magic we want others to experience in their own spaces.
